Just performed a wheel alignment? You’re not done yet. To complete the job you need to perform a steering angle reset.
Make quick work of it with the latest Snap-on software.
Go into the Wheel Alignment System, select Wheel Alignment, then Reset Memory and you will receive a message: Turn the ignition key off and wait for at least five seconds. After five seconds, step on the brake pedal and start the engine.
The step by step instructions will guide you through. You then need to ensure that the following four conditions are met:
- Ensure that the parking brake is released, or the test will not work
- Turn the ignition key off and wait for at least ten seconds
- After ten seconds, turn the ignition key on engine/ready light off
- Ensure that the engine is stopped and the ignition key is on
Continue to start the test. The calibration is completed when ABS and/or VSC lamp flash fast. Wait for two minutes.
After the calibration is complete, you are informed that if the ABS lamp did not blink fast you need to exit, turn the ignition switch off then on, and to try the test again.
If all is in order press Continue and return the vehicle to your customer with confidence.
