What is Smart Data?

Smart Data is a technology exclusive to Snap-on® diagnostic scan tools equipped with the latest software that can save you time on every diagnostic code. As one of the most powerful features of Fast-Track® Intelligent Diagnostics, Smart Data automatically filters and prioritizes the most relevant data parameters related to the specific trouble code detected—eliminating guesswork or the need to manually sift through hundreds of data parameters.

How Smart Data Works: 

When selecting the Smart Data icon on the Fast-Track® ID landing page, the software automatically displays a custom PID list with only the data parameters related to the selected trouble code on this vehicle, and it flags which ones are out of range, at idle – red flags indicate parameters that are currently out of range, while blue flags highlight parameters that were previously out of range. 

How does that help you? 

  • Speeds Up Diagnosis – With potentially hundreds of PID parameters to find smart data automatically identifies relevant PIDS based on the code you’re working on. No need to manually search for key PIDs; Smart Data finds and prioritizes them automatically, saving you a bunch of time! 
  • Code-Specific PID List – Automatically generates a custom PID list tailored to the vehicle and fault code, so technicians only see relevant data. 
  • Automatic PID Flagging – Red flags indicate parameters that are currently out of range, while blue flags highlight parameters that were previously out of range. It is simple to see which parameters are out of range.
  • Eliminates Guesswork – Built-in known good minimum and maximum parameters help technicians quickly identify problem areas and where further investigation is required.
