With the rise of Electric and Hybrid vehicles on the UK roads rapidly expanding, now is the time to future proof your workshop by up-skilling your staff, starting with Snap-on's electric vehicle training.

 

This 3 day course covers the technology associated with the present generation of hybrid and electrically propelled vehicles. By the end of this course, you will be qualified to work on electric and hybrid vehicles.

The focus is on gaining a thorough understanding of how the electric vehicle functions and the variation of electric vehicle types currently available, and there is a strong emphasis on safe working practices. Candidates will learn:

 

• The correct methods for shutting down and isolating high voltage systems

• The correct measurement procedures and approved tools

• The layout and construction of hybrid and electric drive powertrain systems and the identification of key components

• The principles of high voltage battery construction, management and monitoring systems

• The design, construction and operating principles of three phase, brushless motor/generator systems

• The control systems required for efficient operation, and methods of electrical rectification and regulation

• The transmission system operating principles of current Toyota hybrids

• The diagnosis of system faults and monitoring of live data using suitable diagnostic

  What prior qualifications are required?

Technicians interested in taking this course ideally need to possess appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge and skills at level 3.

  When and where will the course be held?

This course will be held at our Snap-on training school. A range of dates are available to select when booking. Times are as follows:

 

Day 1: 9am – 5pm

Day 2: 8.30am – 5pm

Day 3: 8.30am – 5pm

  How much is the course per delegate?

The cost per delegate is £399.00 + VAT

Day 3:

  • IMI practical assessment (candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% to pass)
  Do I need to bring PPE?

It is a mandatory requirement to wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times. It is required that the candidate wears steel toe cap boots, as well as appropriate long-legged trousers for use in the workshop and classroom environment. Any other necessary PPE will be provided at the centre.

  What are your Terms and Conditions?

To order a Course, you must be 18 years or older and possess appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge at level 3.

Course materials are distributed at the time of the event. All intellectual property rights (including copyright) in our Courses or any materials provided to you in our provision of the same belongs to us. We will allow you to use the applicable study materials to study on the Course. Unless otherwise permitted by these terms, you agree that you will only use any study materials for study purposes and that you will not copy, make available, transmit, reproduce, sell, licence, distribute, publish or broadcast or otherwise circulate the materials.

You have a right to cancel your order for a Course and request a refund. All cancellations must be in writing to Anthony.M.Pickering@snapon.com. For bookings cancelled at least 3 business days (by 5.00 pm) before the Course date, we will refund the Course fee in full. For Course bookings cancelled after this time frame, the Course fee is non-refundable. You may attend another Course of equivalent value free of charge. Where the Course is of lesser value, the balance will either be held in credit against your account or set off against outstanding fees at our discretion.

If you wish to make a change to the Course you have ordered please contact us at least 3 business days (by 5.00 pm) before the Course date. We will let you know if the change is possible. If it is possible we will let you know about any changes to the price of the Course you want to change to, the date and time or anything else which would be necessary as a result of your requested change and ask you to confirm whether you wish to go ahead with the change.
